BUILDING IMMUNITY- Flu' shots from nature

If you like freshly squeezed orange juice, then you are sure to love this drink. This is a citrus explosion that takes classic orange juice to a whole new and healthy level. It's the perfect zesty juice to start your day and boost your immune system.

  • juice of 4 oranges

  • juice of 1 lemon

  • juice of 1 lime

  • 1 inch of fresh ginger root

  • 1 inch of fresh turmeric root

  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

  • pinch of Himalayan salt

  • pinch of cayenne pepper

*Source organic produce wherever possible to avoid pesticide residues and increase nutritional value.

Juice or blend the citrus fruits, ginger and turmeric together. You can juice the citrus by hand and then blend or put everything peeled through a juice extractor. I highly recommend using rubber gloves for peeling turmeric and cleaning your juicer, as it stains your fingers and all surfaces, so be cautious!

Then add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and a pinch of pink Himalayan salt and stir well. Transfer into a sterile glass bottle or jar. Store in the fridge for up to 10 days. (It barely lasts that long in my house!)

Take 1 'shot' sprinkled with a pinch of cayenne pepper, preferably every morning before breakfast for flu' prevention. Cheers to your good health!

Citrus fruits are a great source of Vitamin C, which is a wonderful antioxidant that boosts your immune system and helps you fight infections.

Ginger has amazing anti-inflammatory properties and gives natural relief from muscle aches, pains and nausea.

Turmeric contains the potent anti-inflammatory nutrient Curcumin which helps with symptoms from depression, inflammatory bowel and arthritis.

Apple cider vinegar as well as being a good disinfectant and natural preservative, has many health benefits, including reducing cholesterol, aiding weight loss and lowering blood sugar levels.

Pink Himalayan salt is roughly 98 percent sodium chloride and is also a good source of trace minerals, such as iron, potassium, magnesium and calcium.

Cayenne pepper contains Capsaicin, which has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties.
